    Lived Thjrough Another One

1 extension and 1 return for Monday AM. I think this is the first year in a long time everything was not done before the final day. Every return out that information came in for. Extensions are the same ones who have gotten used to it. Post office with money due extensions all done this AM. 1 extension for Monday client has to bring the checks in and get the extension to the post office-himself.

Happy Easter, Passover, Sunday and end of the tax season to everyone.

        Thanks for all you help

My season has closed down with no problems, no extensions, and an increased in number of returns done. Happy Easter to all of you. Or should I say ya'll.

          Chief, congratulations

you are very efficient and have your clients well trained, apparently.
Me, I am disorganized and do not know how many more extensions will have to
          get.

to all who are finished. I have to wait till Monday to see if I can efile a Minnesota return. Otherwise, I will have to call client and have him pick up Minnesota and mail it off.
I have to double check another return and then file it. My extensions are done.

BUT I have payroll to do before Monday morning. And sales tax to do before the 20th. And ....Bookkeeping...And.....And......

So I don't feel that I have a break coming yet.

I'm right there with ya Linda. I did 12 extensions. Have two corporate returns to complete (if I can). I guess I will work some tomorrow even though I dont' want too. Should celebrate Easter approriately.

I also have sales tax, bookkeeping, payroll.... and websites!

                    What do you do?

What do you do with people and businesses that have just been wiped away? How can they reconstruct anything?

IRS should just say forget it for the year, in my opinion.

To: Jon's "Lived Through Another One."

Amen, brother. I look at all those stacks and boxes of return copies and wonder "How did we ever do all that stuff?" I know we did, but there's so much absolute detail in there, I can hardly believe that we plowed through that mountain of information and hammered out coherent tax returns from it.

Then this sobering thought hits me--I've got to do it all over again next year.

I sure am glad (in one way) that next January's a long way off!

                          earlier than usual

My last return was my own. That's about six months earlier than usual.

I had to finish 3 more returns this morning. Have 3 times as many extentions as last year, meaning 9 and on Thursday an appointment for a corporation and 1040 from another tax preparer.

That's good for me. Also have to do some payroll and bookkeeping but will be taking of tomorrow and Wednesday. Well, actually tomorrow morning I will have to drive 4 hrs. to Helena, where I have an appointment at 8 AM. So glad it isn't today. Didn't have any say in this one.

Thanks to all of you for all the support and wake up calls.

By the way: Is anyone of you attending the IRS seminar in California?
