    Mileage/per diem question

Client is a welder and had a 2 month job (W-2) about 95 miles from his tax home where he worked most on the year. He traveled to this job every day. Can he still take the mileage for his travel? Is he entitled to the $42/day ME&I if he travels to the job every day? I think the CONUS $42/day is only if you are away from home over night, but the mileage is for temporay work outside his "normal metropolitan area" He lives about 60 outsie St. Louis in IL and traveled to a small town in outstate MO.

I would think he could take mileage. Temporary job location outside his normal metropolitan area. No meal allowance.
