    Sova, Bees re: LLC

    Matt and Bees,

Sorry to bother you in particular, but you are both strong advocates for no SE tax on LLC distributive share. I'm just wondering if you take Sec 179 for your LLC member clients for whom you are considering their interests limited for SE tax purposes.

Again, sorry to direct this to you but I was hoping for a response by now to my earlier post and haven't gotten any. I'm desparate, in case you can't tell!

    Thanks so much.

Yes, I would take Section 179 for an LLC where members are not subject to SE tax, except for guaranteed payments.

It would be no different than an S corporation taking Section 179 even though the shareholder's distributive share of profits is not subject to SE tax.
