Taxpayer has W-2 income of 75K. He has pension plan at work. He also has self-employment income of $30K. Together with his wife's income, their AGI is $125K.
My tax program says he can make about $3,600 to his SEP-IRA because of his self-employment income and it is fully deductible. Is it correct? I am thinking he is an active participant because of his pension plan at work so he is subject to the phase out rule and his AGI would prevent any deductible SEP-IRA contribution.
