Can you efile a return that has a w-2 with no wages listed. Just code J third party sick pay? My software is telling me no.

All reporting boxes zero? Remove W-2, then e-file.

All boxes are zero except third party sick pay. So do not enter the w-2 at all?

Is there another

W-2 from the same place (employer)? If so enter the code J and amount in box 12 and check the 3rd party sick pay box in box 13. Has worked for me in the past.

I had one of those. Don't know if this was proper or not but this is what I did.

I put $1 in the wages box 1. It let the return be electronically filed and it didn't change the outcome of the return in any way.

Like I said.....don't know if that was correct......probably not but that is what I did.
