    Need some advice, please.

Help needed. On 2011 taxes, tp converted traditional IRA to a Roth, I listed the amount from 1099R on return and all taxes due where paid; however, I did not list the roth conversion amount on the return... should I ammend 2011 or can I just sent in form 8606 separately ? :/

When you say "all taxes due where paid" do you mean you treated the conversion as a distribution?

If so I would amend. I think you can only send in the 8606 solo when deeming a Trad IRA contribution non deductible. If the taxpayer is under the age of 59.5 years old, amending the return would eliminate the 10% penalty "due and paid" on the original return, if I have the story straight.
