    PMI Statements

Mortgage companies are telling customers they were "forced" by the IRS to delete the PMI information from the 1098s. Now some of them are reissuing these 1098 statements with the PMI included.

Anyone know what's going on here???

    Another Physical Clift Thing

Never mind. Deduction for mortgage interest expired prior to 2012. On Jan 1, Congress retroactively extended it effective for the 2012 calendar year.

I get so tired of their shenanigans every year and the fire drills that result. Time to start sending some of them home.

If the client had mortgage insurance in the previous year and I don't have the followup letter from the mortgage company I have been calling the automated information line and getting it there. Wells Fargo has it and I'm sure others do as well.

It might be on his final mortgage statement for the year. Or it would be on the Hud 1 statement.
