    Salinas, KS Preparers

One of my clients has moved there to take a job with Kansas State Univ. and will be looking for a local preparer.

If any of you practice in the area, or reasonably close, and are interested in taking on another client, please respond or
    send a private message.

Since we are a nationwide forum, this board has proved to be a great reference for people leaving and arriving in different locations.

    Thanks, Ron Jordan

Why not continue to prepare your client's tax returns yourself??

I have many clients who have moved elsewhere...just a mere bump in the road for the separation issue.

Doing so can also be productive: I have a nice base of clients (mostly recommends) whom I have NEVER met face-to-face.

      Already Decided

This is Snag, using a different computer. Your attempt to be helpful is appreciated.

The decision to continue using a preparer, long-distance, has to be bilateral, i.e. workable for both the preparer and the client. Actually I have a couple that work for everyone.

There have been situations where long-distance consultation and preparation have been attempted due to the desire of both parties to continue. Most of the time they don't work out, and sometimes I can predict from the complexity of their returns whether the relationship would be in danger of deteriorating.

This is one of those times.

I have a small tax prep business in a small town in California, and I get more and more clients every year who switch to me because they are getting tired of driving the 1 hour drive each way to the 2 nearest bigger cities or the 2 hour or so drive to the LA area. People like to stick to their former preparer that they've had for years, but after awhile the inconvenience of driving there and back, usually more than once per tax season, trumps seeing their tried and true preparer of many years. Once they make the switch, then they have a new tried and true preparer right in town!

          Bump it Up

I'll try to bump this to the top one more time. If I don't hear anything, I'll go to the NATP or NAEA register.

Would rather use someone on this forum if anyone is interested...
