    Taxwise question

When entering new client there is a spot that ask if you had contacted the employer to verify the SS#. and ask for the phone # of the employer. the area will stay RED untill you answer. Never had this last year. What is the deal more
    work the IRS wants done?

    I think it's a glitch.

I've noticed it, too, in connection with the VITA program. It ain't the only one.

I certainly haven't heard of any such requirement from the IRS to do so, and have no intention calling every employer to check SSN's. The issuer of W-2's/1099's puts a phone # on the form, and 1096 and/or W-3 for contact info so the IRS/SSA has it.

... the area will stay RED untill you answer. ...
You do understand that the "red" requirement can be applied (or removed) by your local software guru when he configures the software for your location.
This applies to either the desktop or the on-line version of TaxWise.

          Actually, you couldn't.

But it seems to have been fixed in the latest version.
