    I don't know I have them since it is not apparent on the web page. But I did find where I can receive an email when one is sent so I changed the setting.

    Sorry to those I hadn't replied, I wasn't ignoring you.

      Yes, I changed mine a long time ago to also go into my email account. But if you look at the top of this screen, where it says "Notifications" I think that is where the alert shows up. Wish they had not changed it -- it needs to say PRIVATE MESSAGES. And be a little more prominent.
