For the past few years I have been using a release form. Now I see that IRS says it needs to be updated. I tried to read the IRS instructions but found then to be confusing. Assuming that the form I was using was in compliance with old IRS protocol, can anyone tell me what I need to change?

How about somebody sending me a copy of their form. While I am aware of it, I have had no release requests for a couple of years, but who knows what the future holds. ClergyTaxes@aol.com

I'll just bet that's the one I inserted my information when you sent it, never had to use it, but then just sent it to Mark.
Hope you didn't have it copyrighted. (grinChEAr$,

Consent Form
Look at your Tax software - They may have a generic consent form as part of the Tax Return and/or other forms.
I review that form with Each client -
Also each form before they sign and e-file. Many just listen with a glazed look over their eyes...
It's amazing how I hear stories about other preparers and their quick filing tactics. A few have said, "I mail my taxes to my guy and he sends them back. I sign and pay - Many times I never even see the guy. Amazing..
My biggest issue I have is keeping my mouth shut so I can process the clients faster.Matthew Jones
