My client received a CP2000. We have already replied to it. Client called IRS last Friday for an update of the progress. He was told that "the case has been closed and no adjustment has been made". Does this reply mean the IRS has accepted the explanation on the reply so there is no balance due on the client's account now?

every CP2000 I've ever handled evenually led to a closing letter. I aways follow up with clients to be sure they receive one. If a client ever told me they didn't get one by 60-90 days out, I'd assume it got lost in the mail or misplaced and I'd call the IRS t request duplicate. (I wouldn't leave that task up to the client)"The only function of economic forecasting is to make astrology look respectful" - John Kenneth Galbraith
