    New 8867

Has any one looked at the new 8867?It is almost an affidavit of the client being eligible for EITC so they can fine you if they feel like it.I think I will have to raise my prices $50.00 just for this form.

    My take

From previous posts on TTB, it seems like IRS is going after Tax Pro's who are doing like a 100 or more EITC returns. For people like myself, who do under 10 a year, it seems like as long as we prepare the 8867 the chance of an IRS examination is about the same as any return. So I am inclined not to over react.

As soon as EITC pops up on the return the fee will go up $500.00. This is equal to the potential fine, as I understand it. This way, I am covered in the event the client lies and I don't catch it.
