    Disabled dependent medical exps

Prospect called and asked me if necessities like diapers, bed pants etc are deductible. Never had any clients with a disabled dependent child before but upon a quick research, the only possible deduction is it may fall under medical exps via Sch A subject to 7.5% rule. Feel free to weigh in.

I have had many elderly, incapacitated spouses who incurred these expenses, and I have included them in the medical deductions on Sche A.

      I agree

I agree that this qualifies for a schedule A medical expense.

So long as the underlying expenses are qualifying (and I agree these likely are), there is little difference between deducting the expenses for a disabled taxpayer/spouse or a disabled dependent.

I would treat them as "medical supplies" and move on.
