EIN and name change

Sole prop has an EIN for another business (sole prop), he now has a new business he is running as a sole prop.. Can he use the same EIN for the new business? does he need to contact IRS about the name change or add the new business name? He still is running both businesses, is that a problem?

Same number regardless of how many SPs he has. It belongs to the individual not the DBA.

thanks, just wondering about the original application with a different business name. Guess that doesn't matter as long as same person.
