    Employer provided auto

Employer provides auto to employee. Employee goes directly from home to construction site and home again. Employee does not have an office and has
another auto available for personal use. Is any of this taxable to employee.
Employer pays all expenses for automobile usage.

    All reported as W-2 wages

That would be my take. If employee has allowable business use (not commuting from home), they can deduct on Schedule A.

      Agreed.

Sounds like merely a very taxable fringe benefit.

Cannot follow logic of why employer provides such a "bonus" in the first place.

It would make for an interesting question where the "income" is reported on the W2....if at all. Could be an end run.

I've also seen similar situations where the employee also receives a Form 1099-MISC for the car stuff. That piece of paper is often forgotten, but has been know to reappear upon audit.
