One per envelope (with attachments) or multiples in the same mailing?

I have sent 3 in one large envelope. Sometimes 2, most of the time just one due to time frames. I staple each 8453 to the individual documents, and write SSN on the document sheets in black felt pen just to be safe. It is not usually on the pages.

I have been mailing 1 per envelope but now since I heard from others, I will enlcose a few in each envelope.

Back in the days

before form 8879, the 8453 had to be mailed one day after acceptance. If we could not batch send them then, we would be spending most of our days getting envelopes ready. I am sure glad it is not that way now.

Yes, now I remember those big fat stuffed envelopes requiring add'l postage.
