Is it possible for a nonresident of CA to do an extension on the CA FTB website without having to print a form and mail it in? My software company does not think it is and if I have to print and mail in a form it's easier to do that in my software than on an unfamiliar website but I'd give a lot of time to save the mailing.

If you are not going to pay with the extension, it is automatic if you file a federal extension. I couldn't find anything on the Web site about extensions and non residents. You can pay online, but, there are probably "hoops" you have to go through.
