    Alimony vs spousal support

    Is spousal support virtually the same as alimony? Deductible by payor and included in income by recipient. Divorced in the state of Maine, husband moved to Texas. Equal monthly payments.

          Generally, yes. If actually specified as such in the agreement and meets the frequency rules, etc. Above link is good info.
