Taxpayer forced to sell land on iterstate for new highway. Can lawyer fees to negotiate sales prices be added to cost basis?

No cite, but at first glance it would appear that this would be part of the expenses of making the sale, which has the effect of lowering the profit from the sale.
When you get a HUD statement upon selling property, it will have atty. fees, filing fees, appraisals, etc.
LTOnly in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".
