Good for A Chuckle - The 2% Haircut Rule

I was researching a tax question for a commecial airline pilot and decided to read a few forums for pilots to see what others had to say about the issue.. While reading some of the posts, I was side- tracked by one pilot who kept insisting that he could deduct haircuts. Others would challenge him about it, but he stuck to his guns, finally invoking the "2% Haircut Rule " he had read on an accounting forum. He understood this to mean that if his haircuts, uniforms, union dues, etc exceeded 2% of AGI, he could deduct all of these items.

Finally, another poster set him straight by saying "Dude, I'm not an accountant or a lawmaker, I'm just a jet jockey like you. I don't know where they get the term, but the "2% Haircut Rule" doesn't have anything to do with ACTUAL HAIRCUTS. It has to do with levels of deductions. You need to stop giving tax advice."

I just hope he's more attentive to his instrument panel than he is with what he reads on the internet.

Come to think of it, this could have ben the same guy.

Don't know if you noticed this in the video, but when the passengers were sitting on him in the aisle, his tonsorial presense was impeccable - every hair in place in spite of the scuffle.
