Residential Energy efficient property credit carryforward

Have my first residential energy efficient property credit and there is a carryforward to 2012. Does anyone know if this continues to carryforward until all used up? Looking as if it does but I can't seem to find in writing if it just carrys forward one year or until all used up. Anyone else who has dealt with this in past know the answer?

My understanding is that it does continue to c/f until used up. The instructions or tax law addressing this should include the answer.
