Client owned and lived in house in town for over 5 years, purchased another home in country and moved into it. Client wanted to sell house in town, but it didn't sell. Lived in country 2 years and 5 months, didn't like it, and moved back into the house in town. Client then sold house in country ( a year and 2 months after she moved out) at a loss. Can I take a loss on the house in the country, as a second home?
