I just got an email from NTAP that they will give me a free RRTP exam book free with a 151.00 membership. Opinions on this organization?

If you have new tax preparers in your office, they have an excellent Tax 101 course at a decent rate.

I agree there tax reserach was good the few times I used it and I believe they still give 1 free research question a year. I am curious, what are the current dues and what does NATP now charge for tax research after the 1st free one?Comment

My dues last August were $147. There may be a discount for a new member. I can't remember what the charge is for 2nd + research questions were, but am sure it's on their website. First one each year is free and they give you the cite/documentation. You also get TaxPro Monthly magazine, TaxPro Journal quarterly, NATP weekly newsletter, and automatic membership in the state chapter. I have used their articles as cites on this board. National convention this year is in Baltimore, MD in July, and lots of states have their own annual meetings. Plenty of CE including everything you will need for the IRS to meet the new requirements, at meetings-conferences and in fall workshops that are all over the US. If you join, tell them I sent you and I get a dues discount!Last edited by Burke; 03-22-2012, 04:36 PM.Comment

RTRP Exam Prep
I don't have an opinion on NATP.
I highly recommend the online RTRP exam prep course from APlusCPE.
It is not associated with a professional organization. But it is an excellent program, at a great price.
