    no one sees the signed form except us so I don't guess it really matters.

    I am not sure how it is in other states, but my middle initial on my driver's license is H for my maiden name but on everything else it is E for my actual middle name. That may be why some get confused......then others are just plain confused.

      Sign it

      Well, as the IRS uses only the first 4 letters of the last name to match the SSN, the 1st name on the tax return doesn't even have to match what is on the Social Security Card. A very large number of my client must think they qualify as doctors as their signatures are just squiggles.

        Why do they have to know? They're supposed to be signing THEIR name, not YOURS...
