    Dependent, age 24

Parents want to claim child who is a student and 24 years of age as of 2011. She has only $2114. of earned income. Any reason why not?

Did they provide over half of her support? Maybe she borrowed $40,000 in student loans to pay for school. This would count as support provided by child and would most likely mean parents could not meet the support test.
