Client installed zones in their heating and air system. It allows them to direct heat or A/C into area of the home where they want heating or cooling instead of blowing heat or air into rooms when it is not necessary. So when downstairs they can completely shut off air flow to the second story rooms or vice versa. The client feels this does the same thing as insulation and saves them energy as insulation would. I don't believe this would qualify as a energy improvement for tax purposes but I wanted to run it by others to see if there is anyway this could qualify as a system designed to reduce heat loss or gain. They completely redesigned their heating and air system to make it more energy efficient.
