    Trs & Social Security

I have a Texas retired teacher drawing (TRs) teachers retirement. He also has a farm and has paid into social security for the past 15 years in farm earnings. Only a small amount per year- few hundred dollars. Will he be able to draw anything from Social securiy? If so, will they cut his TRS?

    thanks

Will have to have 40 quarters of coverage under social security. Requires around $1,000 to receive one quarter of coverage. Should not affect pension.

As I've recently learned, a state or municipal pension from a job where the employee didn't pay into Social Security can result in a reduction in Social Security benefits.
