E-File Attachment Problem

I just e-filed a return with my tax software (TaxWorks) that included an attached election statement to group rental activities under 1.469-4(c). However when I looked at what was actually sent to the IRS in the XML file, I do not see the PDF attachment anywhere.

Is there any good way to take care of this problem? I was thinking of using an 8453, but the current form doesn't have an option for election statements. Do I have to file an amendment?

I'm a bit annoyed at my software right now...

My software, ATX has a form for elections and statements that is efiled. I haven't used the feature to attach PDF files yet, so I don't know if it shows up in the forms filed or not.

Not sure I am going to give you the correct answer - but in TW there is
Utilities and Notes - When you open Notes, there are Tabs, and you have a choice of EF Preparer Notes, EF Election Explanation, EF Regulatory Explanation that you can use.

There is a way to Attach a PDF to the electronic, but I have only used it once, and I don't remember how to do it.

Probably call Support and they can walk you through it.
