schedule D question

Do you list both short and long term transactions on the same Schedule D worksheet?
I am getting an error that my worksheet totals do not agree with schedule D totals.
That is correct because the schedule D separates the totals on the Worksheet.
Any Help

First, they go on separate 8949's. Then both flow to the Sched D (top and bottom). What software are you using?

Burke, I use tax wise. Can you believe that they are not able to furnish a 1041 state of Illinois yet. I posted all short terms on one worksheet and all LT on another. It worked. No more errors..
