OK. This is my first return for a rural mail carrier.I know they are under an accountable plan but if their mileage exceeds the amt on their W2 can you use the excess.Read where excess of actual expenses can be used but can acutal mileage be used.
Mileage cannot be used for rural carriers. All actual expenses can be used and the difference between actual expenses and the carriers allowance is the deduction. Use form 2106 and depreciate the vehicle.
