    Agree with that! She may not want anything else to do with him.

        I agree, in my opinion you really need to look at all facts and circumstances. Are all of his belongings still in the home awaiting his return?

        Or......Did she pack up everything and move it to a relative, wanting that he never return? Take it to the landfill? Burn it in the back yard?

          Technically he is living in the house and temporarily away. Her options are MFJ or MFS, unless she has a legal separation. If she wants nothing to do with him why is she still married to him. These days there is such a thing as do-it-yourself divorce.

            Have a former colleague with this recurring problem. He mails the signature pages and return for review with a return envelope. Prison specifies no labels (how drugs are smuggled in) just hand written address and return address. Wife is not divorcing him at this time, even though she will. But they use MFJ. Sometimes she visits him and gets signatures.
