Irs Reject Re Date Of Death

I just received a prompt IRS reject because I entered the spouse's date of death wrong.
This indicates that IRS has access to the Social Security Administration data or
other data which provides date of death information. Amazing!

    Wrong Date

    Maybe the person isn't dead...

The Service has had access to the social security data base for some time now.

Once I entered the correct date of death IRS Accepted the return filed electronically
        almost imediately.

          H-m-m.
Pretty powerful computers they are getting up there.

If they already have our date of death, it can sure simplify retirement planning.

            Yes, it certainly does.

See the updated version of Publication 590, Individual Retirement Arrangements, for a rather detailed discussion. You can now use your actual date of death to calculate the required minimum distribution.

            This post is a satire.

Was that the Kevorkian table for RMD's?

Sometimes you gotta use those smiley faces AND a disclaimer in italics JUST TO BE SURE nobody takes you seriously.

I think we should all query them for our individual DOD. I have a big bucket list and it would be nice to have a deadline for completion of the items on the list
