    4797 and bankruptcy

    If there was a bankruptcy on a rental house, do you still need to file a form 4797 for the tax year that the bankruptcy occurred?

      More information may be needed

      If the owner of a rental house lost the house in a bankruptcy I would think that they would file F4797 to calculate and report gain or loss.
