    not a vent

usually I am qucik to vent about "problem" clients like most on the board - however - yesterday a client made my day - receptionist asked "have we prepared your tax returns before" - client replied "oh yes, I'm a LIFER with you guys"....,.

    Yeah

Yeah, I am well known to share the misery, too, Luke. Last week, a gentleman came in who I recognized from last year as a DIYer dropping in for free advice. Something (I'm sure it was God) told me: "Be patient and kind. Listen."

The man told me his daughter had gotten married Oct 12, and was killed in a car accident Oct 21. He didn't know how to handle her taxes.

I was never so glad in all my life that I kept my mouth shut.
If you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Ya I am quick to vent on the forum also. Glad everyone listens to me.

I have far more good clients than bad. I had one the other day say he did not know what he would do without me. Another told me how much they appreciate what I do for them. I told them both "thank you it makes me feel good to hear that".

Mine are always saying, "you are going to keep doing this next year, right?" I guess I'll have to set up an office when I move into my nursing home. (Might get some new clients.)

          Aren't they "old" clients then?

            retirement question

I had a client yesterday ask me if I planned to retire. I had told them that my husband had retired last April. So they wanted to know if I planned to do the same. Told them "No, retirement wasn't in the plans."

Makes you feel good that they want to make sure you will be around next year for them.
