    Self employed Disability insurance

Just checking, brain going numb! It's my understanding that a sole proprietor can not deduct liability insurance on himself if he has insurance available at his job. Right?

If you really meant liability insurance, then no, he can deduct it; it seems unlikely he'd have liability insurance at work that would cover his self employment.

But if that's a typo and you meant health insurance, then yes, you're correct.

Was also confused because post topic is "disability" insurance. Maybe clarify which type of insurance and also the self employment/job situation so you can get a good answer.

Gary2's response is exactly what I would have written, but di not, after reading the post.

I also thought it was just a typo (meant "medical")
