    Fake W2?

Could anyone direct me on checking up the authenticity of a client's W2? or What would you do if you suspect a W2?

    Regards

First check, do the numbers make sense. If any doubts call company. If you can't find a phone mnumber or website for a company that should tell you something.

I wouldn't file the tax because the dependants being claimed aren't related to him at all.

          Thanks

In the long run, the most profitable thing you can do is turn away certain clients. Making the correct decision in these situations will save you costly aggravation and expense, significantly offsetting the small amount of foregone upfront revenue.

Why would they be able to help? They are charged with detecting counterfeiters of currency but for W-2'?

If it is handwritten or altered you check that box when efiling.

Did I miss something? I didn't see any dependents mentioned in the OP.
