    Where are the TV ads?

I realized today that I haven't seen the TV commercials from the franchise companies this year like usual. Past years they were running ads every 10 minutes on the local TV channels, starting about Jan 1st for all three of the big companies. Anyone else notice the absence of TV ads in your area?

None seen here on local Fox news channel. And there may be a good reason for that, since average viewer of said conservative television operation tends not to be a liberal who has overwithholding giving rise to a larger than average refund. Also average viewer tends to have higher income and not readily susceptible of qualifying for the EITC. you reckon?

that will bash the President (I'm not a fan by any means), praise welfare and entitlement reductions and then moan and complain if their EITC ain't high enough. Oh, and they can tell you the entire programming schedule for Fox News.

I don't know. The Son-In-Law is on SS disability and he only watches Fox News period. He doesn't believe in all those entitlement programs. I've never figured it out and never will.

They are showing them pretty steady here. I think it depends on the program showing. I am sure they are more likely to show them during The Real Housewives then some program on the History Channel.

                Plenty of them here

I have seen many ads - IIRC some as early as around New Year's Day??

The "green box" folks are prevalent, now showing a credit/cash card that can be loaded with up to $9,999 if you bring in your paystub and let them "estimate" your refund for you. A return visit is, of course, necessary to pay off your loan....and I'm sure the fees are hefty for a loan lasting perhaps 4-6 weeks!

Another ad was telling how "they" will prepare a free federal tax return! Great. But if you do not have a high speed camera around, you might miss the facts in the very fine print stating the deal only applies to a Form 1040-EZ. Of course, once they have you in the door.....

I do not recall seeing (yet) any ads for J-H or Liberty, but they are certainly coming.

The other comments here about the lack of such ads on Fox affiliates probably does say something about their viewer base as opposed to the other networks. Interesting!

Fortunately, my client base does not expose me to such marketing nor the clients that frequently come with such. I count that as a blessing!

                  Ads a plenty

HRB is promoting "open a tax office in your home". Haven't you seen it? Web ads as well as broadcast TV.

Word of mouth is still #1 and that is where we have an edge.
