    HSA account

Taxpayer was single before and he had been using a HSA account. His max contribution before was about $3,000 a year.

Last year he got married and now he has a family health policy (HSA compatible) together with his wife. Now together they can make a max contribution of about $6,000 a year.

Question: Can the full $6,000 be made to the same HSA account that he has been using for himself before?

See Pub. 969, under Rules for Married People. I read it as saying yes.
