    EA Exam

Anyone take and pass the new EA exam that would be willing to part with their books for a reasonable sum? Thanks

Testing for TY 2010 closes in mid Feb 2012

Then the window again opens up in May for TY 2011. I believe that is correct. Probably dont want to use 2010 TY study material for an exam on TY 2011.

The most reasonable sum for which you can acquire books to pass the newest EA exam consists of the DeLuxe Edition Tax Book which is available from Tax Materials Inc. In all seriousness, if you read that book cover to cover you are ready to take the exams at Prometric so long as you are comfortable about the idea of multiple choice questions.

I would have had a tough time passing the exams had I only read TTB. This is especially true for computing basis on Part 2 and the various representation/practice questions on Part 3. TTB might be sufficient for Part 1, but it doesn't emphasize the needed material like the SEE-specific study guides do. Personally, I used Phoenix Tax and I think it was worth every penny. It is especially useful to have multiple-choice computer-based tests to see how you are progressing.
