Are 1099 misc required to be reported to New York State, There is withholding on the 1099 mic. New York tells me they are not, but I find it hard to believe.

    Thanks,

NYS gets NO 1099s. Just include any withholding per the 1099.

      Any Publications?

Thanks bob do you have any publications I could look at regarding this. I can't find anything from New York talking about the reporting of a 1099 misc.

Actually, this is addressed by NYS. You can find this on the NYS website - www.tax.ny.gov

Does my company need to submit a copy of Form1099-MISC to New York State?
No. For more information, see N-91-60 Filing of 1991 Information Return IT-2102.1/1099.

Don't know but it always works out...................Issuer of the 1099 must file it with NYS and NYS matches with the tax return. I have never W/H NYS on my clients 1099 so I don't know how it is done. But I'm sure there is a process.
