    Back Tax Returns

I have a question - as I am compiling information - We had the "stimulus or recovery economic rebates" issued in 2008 and 2009. (Tax Returns 2007 and 2008)

I have two clients that I have to file 2006 - 2010 tax returns to bring them into filing compliance. The 2006 and 2007 return refunds will be lost for Federal purposes

Are these taxpayers still eligible to obtain these amounts on late filed returns? And if so, would it be on the 2007 return or the 2008 return, or can I choose which year if still eligible?

    Thanks

    Sandy

Far as I know...didn't see any restrictions on filing by a certain date (other than the usual filing restrictions) for those credits. And no you can't do anything other than what the instructions for the given year say. They are for the year they are for, not any other by choice.
Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

      Rebates

The recovery rebate credit can be claimed on the 2008 tax return.
