I've been able to and know how to get copies of 941 and 940 account transcripts through eservices or just by calling the IRS, but what about the actual returns or line items on those returns other than a 4506 or is that the client's only option?
Also, 4506t's are for forms 1040, 1120, etc and W2's, 1099's, but for the recipient on the income, not the payor, right? And it doesn't look like we could use this form for payroll tax returns like 941's and 940's. So how do we get copies of the W2's that was sent out by the client? Social security?
I've never had to look for these before so, I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.
