NT / Helpful hints from client

Mr. LateAsUsual just dropped off his stuff (already), and he has in his DIRECTIONS TO ME that IRS is allowing taxpayers to deduct health insurance premiums for self-employment tax purposes this year.

    You don't say...

He also informed me that this deduction is HIDDEN on line 3 of Schedule SE.

Gee, it's a good thing I have this guy. You know, because I haven't looked at a 2010 Schedule SE until just now. And, it was ALL THE WAY down there on line 3 and all...
If you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Ha! Love it. We need one of those good answers from board members. I can only think of:

    "Let me write that down!."

I would pull out my TaxBook and go to the specific page and show him the same thing.

          Maybe the response should be:

"I'm betting you just came from your hairstylist appointment, didn't you?"

              Reminds me

I was reminded of the year of the phone tax rebate. I got about 25 articles from clients about it. Nevermind that they sold $50,000 in stocks and knew nothing about the basis.
