Nope. It was for the current week. Back in those days, nobody held back a week's pay when you started a job. And even when they switched to a bi-weekly pay period, we still got the checks on the Wed before the Friday of the 2nd week. I was the office manager, and it caused us some problems in one case where an employee walked off the job but we could not stop her paycheck from going to her bank account. Never got it back either.
