    W-2 Box 14

I know that info in box 14 is for informational purposes and many times the employer shows California SDI in this box. On a client's W-2, box 14 shows Calif. SDI TXBL of $683.10. Previous tax preparer showed SDI TXBL amount on line 21. Is this the correct handling? Normally SDI is carried to schedule A state taxes as a deduction; why would it be included in income?

    put it on line 21

If you put it on line 21, you get to be the "previous tax preparer" next year!

      Jainen, so

I am correct in thinking previous tax preparer handled incorrectly?? Just wanted to make sure I was not missing something. The "TXBL" notation had me wondering. Usually employer does not show "TXBL SDI", just SDI and figure.

      Thanks!!!

        W-2 - Txbl Sdi

Another point to the CASDI TXBL question, the employer only seems to note "CASDI TXBL" when they show another entry in box 14 of CAFML, which is some type of family plan. I have other clients that work for same company and they only show the normal "SDI" figure in box 14. Has anyone come across this before?
