    Pathetic Commentary

It is indeed a pathetic commentary on our society that one must be incentivized to leave a house without trashing it. Living it for how many months without making payments? And if debtors are forced out, they're going to trash the place unless we bribe them with $2000?

Just one question, who is coming up with $2000? The Mortgage company?

In contrast, no one would trash Don Corleone's house if they were asked to leave....

I'm sure you've seen newspaper police reports in which drunk drivers are sentenced to alcohol-awareness classes. This new and interesting item appeared in today's paper: "The defendant was sentenced to 5 days in jail, fined $800, required to pay full restitution, and ordered to attend anti-theft classes."

What in the world could possibly be taught in such a class? Maybe give the same advice as the lawyer Jim Carrey portrays in his movie "Liar, Liar" -- when a criminal calls for legal advice Carrey screams into the phone at the top of his voice, "Stop breaking the law, a*#$&%@^#"!

The anti-theft class goes something like this:

"OK class, here's a list of 10 things from the Book of Exodus.
Read down through them, and when you get to number 8, raise your hand.
If you see anything there that catches your attention, we'll talk about it."
