    1099MISC Corrected Forms

If there were multiple filed 1099MISC and one was not supposed to receive one, on the corrected forms for the IRS (Red Copy A), do I include a zero dollar amount on the individuals 1099MISC and send it in marked as corrected, or just leave it off completely and IRS will delete it?

    Thanks,

I've never had to do this, but it strikes me that if you had to file several hundred 1099s, and one needed to be corrected, the IRS wouldn't want all several hundred with your corrected filing. Hence they'll assume that if it's omitted, then your intent is that it's unchanged, not deleted. Therefore issuing a corrected 1099 with the dollar amount of zero seems right.

See the general 1099 instructions for more information on correcting 1099s.
