    IRS average time -Form 1023

A non-profit (public charity over 10,000 but under 25,000 annual gross in last 10 years) ----that was in the automatic revocation is trying to decide if they wish to continue.

If all state docs are correct and 1023 is complete (with all info) & with fee, how long do you think IRS takes to process for reinstatement.

Request for advanced ruling would not apply in this case.

    Thanks for your help,

    Jeannie

    IRS TIme for 1023

No way of telling. Depends upon IRS's scheduling.

Last time I submitted a 1023 - it took IRS NINE MONTHS to assign a case worker to the application - then took them 9 minutes to find a whole bunch of rejection reasons. Then it took another 2 months to finally get approved.

All I can say is - better provide full detailed responses to questions with as much copies of procedure and other administrative policies as possible, with copies of any brochures you have.

IRS is quite sticky about seeing to it that formal procedures and policies are in place, published brochures of program services are available.

Submit as much literature and data you have to go along with the application.
