I am still working through some payroll set up with Employees Pre-Tax Deductions
I have a situation, that on "one" employee with 125 Med and Dental EE plus HSA EE contributions exceed the Salary -
So Preliminary is that Box 1 on W-2 ends up at a negative - We can't issue a W-2 with a Negative in Box 1 - Correct?
No (as I know you will ask) net paycheck is not negative - it has the Pastor's Housing Allowance for 2011, which creates a check amount and then properly reporting that in as a Code W.
Just seems the Church gave more on the Housing Allowance than what they should have , thereby reducing the Salary/compensation amount.
